Journey : What We're Missing

There are so many beautiful things in life. But why do we fail to see them?

Realizations... couldn't be too late...

I have never been out of the country in the past. This is the first time and I did this for work. As I trudge along the streets of Chinatown, I have been noticing a lot of different things. I have been reflecting on them too.

Singapore I can say is one organized country. It is wealthy enough to support its people and still accommodate overseas workers like us.
The Philippines is supposedly a rich country. Its many natural resources have captured the eyes of many.

What then is the difference between SG and PH?

Many. I can say.

Why - in the Philippines, taxi drivers would want to fool you to get their way. From tips, to programmed taxi meters and fixed rates... They get their money.
But why is our economy not improving?
Here in SG, taxi drivers don't ask for tips. They don't even give fixed rates. But, they are well compensated.

But you know what caught my attention more? The older ones who work so hard here. My heart is crushed everytime I see them pushing carts and all that... They may be the less fortunate here but you see, they still choose to work. To live. Work not beg. So it isn't hard for us here really to give tips to them. They work hard. They deserve every single cent you would want to give them.

There's just so much to be thankful about in life. Even when I can see there's not much corruption in here, I know that this country has something hidden within. But the government just plays its wonderful role and so many are scared still to do ill. I am glad that I have experienced what life is in PH. I tend to appreciate life even more.

People will judge you. Beat you. Kick you. LIE to you. Curse you. Laugh at you and Take Advantage of you. But they should know what's in for them. It may not be today, tomorrow but in the near future. We ain't perfect. But what we always do is our choice. If we commit mistakes, we try to correct them. Pray for guidance.

It isn't just "Praying" that makes you holy. It is more on practicing what your preach and even what you pray. Do good so fate will be good to you. Daddy God is good. He always will.

Clearly, what are we missing?
We are missing the moment to smile everytime we choose to talk about people and not our own plans in life.
We are missing every moment to laugh healthy everytime we choose to giggle on other people's mistakes rather than talk to them.
We are missing every moment to be true everytime we pretend to be nice to somebody we don't like but we have no choice because we make use of them.
We are missing the true meaning of friendship everytime we betray the people we consider friends. We see more of their mistakes than the damage that we have caused to them.
We are missing each moment to save everytime we spend too much of our time and money with toxic people. But sometimes, it is called charity. Sometimes.

There are more to life than what our naked eyes can see. Those people deceived by money, deceived by material things are just people. Yeah. What kind of people? Be the judge.
It is easier to chill out. It is lighter to worry about only the people that concern you. Look at yourself. Straight. Not above the pedestal. That's you.

Look beyond, look through... that's what you're missing.

I've written this several years back but I still gave in to what I thought was right. I thought giving so much of yourself and loving people more than I loved myself would make things right.
